All of these products help make the bathroom area safe and manageable, while giving independence and confidence to the person using it.
Throughout our lives our bodies change. Whether from old age or a life-changing condition, simple tasks can become difficult. Mobility Care brings to you the “tools” you need to make life simple again, without spending a fortune. Some of these more difficult tasks take place in the bathroom - sitting down, standing up, walking on a slippery floor - all of which can get very dangerous.
Installing Grab Bars on the walls of the bathroom and in the bathtub or shower area, makes maneuvering safer and more manageable. Grab Bars are available both in Suction Cup and Conventional styles (Conventional requires drilling into the bathroom tiles).
One of our most popular items is the Shower Chair, otherwise known as a Bath Chair. Standing unsupported in a bath tub or shower stall can be a very dangerous situation. On the other hand, simply having somewhere to sit can make all bath rituals easier and establish a more relaxing and safe environment.
In some cases physical limitations can be too severe to get in and out of a bathtub. Mobility problems can often be overcome by use of a tub Transfer Bench. When using a transfer bench, one end of the bench is inside the tub, and the other end extends outside the tub. The individual can then be brought over to the end seated outside the tub, and then “transfer” inside the bath. This eliminates having to step into the tub, and makes transferring from a wheelchair easier.
Another very popular item is the Raised Toilet Seat. When the height of the toilet is higher, sitting down or standing up from the toilet instantly becomes easier. The most common product is the Raised Toilet Seat with Arms, which provides a 5-inch rise and fixed arms for support.
If a person is confined to a room, or is bed-ridden and cannot make it to a bathroom because of physical limitations, a 3 in 1 Commode is needed. This can be placed next the bed in the room the person is resided in. It can also be used over the toilet and is height-adjustable acting like a safety frame for the toilet. This product is also known as a bedside commode.
Bathroom Wheelchairs are used widely in nursing facilities and assisted living situations. These chairs are designed for an individual to be seated while showering and can be mobile in the chair as well. Built with a padded seat and commode makes this an all-in-one showering tool.
Another product for the bathroom is a Bath Lift. After a very simple installation, the Bath Lift makes getting in and out of the bathtub easier, quicker and safer. The lift simply lowers the person into the bath and raises them when the person is ready to get out.
